Mindless Self Indulgence tonight

I just realized that I haven't told you this yet.
In about an hour I'm leaving to go to a Mindless Self Indulgence concert in Copenhagen!!!
I'm excited, yes!

So, no one actually wanted to go with me when I said that 'oh, Mindless Self Indulgence is coming to Denmark' *wink, wink*, so I'm dragging my best friend with me even though she doesn't know the band :)

I'll see you tomorrow with all the dirty details about the concert ;)

Dúné live streaming tonight!

The Danish band Dúné is streaming their acoustic concert tonight at 8PM UTC + 1. For people who don't know this band it would be worth checking them out, I'm just saying. You can put them in the genre of rock and electric, so they are definitely up to date with their sound. With this new electronic genre everywhere, you can't help but enjoy some acoustic tracks once in a while, am I right? Though I'm not saying I don't like it, just look at the band Veto, I love their sound!!!
But if you want to watch the concert, use this link:
https://www.youtube.com/user/CPHLIVE

I actually intended to buy tickets to this show, but they were sold out pretty quickly, so I'm gonna watch it from my bedroom in stead :)

I hope you are all having a great weekend

3 NEW CD'S

Just spend some money that I don't have (just kidding, but it's money that I should be using on christmas presents). I went to this cool music shop in Copenhagen, and the reason why it's cool is because they don't sell music like Justin Bieber or One Direction. No, no, no. This is all music from old school rock to pop rock artists.

The first of the three albums is Panic! At The Disco's new album Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die.

I listened to is five times in one day, just going too and from school. My favorite tracks are This Is Gospel, Casual Affair, Nicotine, and Miss Jackson. They just have something about them that make that album special.

The two next albums that I got are both from The Floor Is Made of Lava. A while back I went to their goodbye concert (check out the review here: http://memusicandhellyeah.blogspot.dk/2013/09/danish-rap-and-danish-rock.html ) and since then I've loved their music. These are the albums: Hwl at the Moon, and Kids and Drunks.

I haven'r had much chance to listen to these yet, but I will. Until then you may settle with this.

What album have you been listening to the most the past month? Please leave a comment in the section below.

Second hand stores

I love them.

Just yesterday I bought a copy of Nickelback's Silver Side Up for just 9 danish "kroner" (1,65 USD, 1,21 EUR, 1,02 GBP). Every time i go into these stores I go directly to the music shelves. Sometimes you find nothing, other times you find gold.

For instance; I looked at the vinyl-record shelves, and only found shit, then I looked at the CD's and found this baby.

There's a lot of money to be saved, and you might find something there, that you won't be able to find in a usual music store.

In my town, Humlebæk, there is a second hand store, which I go to every time I wait for my bus.

This is a good advice for students, who do not have a lot of money - which is basically every student.

Am I the only one thinking of Thrift Shop by Macklemore right now???

Nevermind, I hope you have a good day.

Danish RAP and Danish ROCK

September has been a month of live experiences. Two concerts and in all 23 artists.

Starting off with the rap, it was the 25th anniversary of Danish rap where a total of 21 of the biggest rap artist from Denmark performed at an almost completely full TIVOLI (same place 30STM had their concert in june). I went to this concert with some friends as a start of a tradition, because even though I'm not into the whole rap scene, this night was unforgettably cool. The lineup showed names as

I have got to say that these guys will bring the inner gangster out of you. You will be headbanging and throwing hand signs for a week - just saying.
The best part of the show was and will always be MC Einar. This man is epic, that is all there is to say about him. Even if you don't like rap, you can't help but feel a bit nostalgic when seeing him live. I remember analyzing one of his songs in a danish class in 8th grade (or somewhere around there).

And here are some of the (poorly taken) pictures from the concert.

Next we are moving to the most important part of this post. The Danish rock - because there are no doubts that the Danish ROCK kicks the Danish RAP's ass.

This concert also took place in TIVOLI, and it was the closing performance of the season we call Friday-Rock in TIVOLI. Through the summer TIVOLI books artists to perform every Friday, and this was the last one. It was actually a combination of two artists: VETO and THE FLOOR IS MADE OF LAVA

I went there for my best friends 19th birthday, and we got to be in front row in the middle. Best view!
Now, I have never actually been listening to these two bands, but after this I will. Especially The Floor Is Made of Lava, who was the main act, was LEGENDARY.
Unfortunately it was their goodbye concert. They will be taking some time off, and maybe they won't come back. One can always hope that they will, because never have I seen such energy coming from four men up on one stage. It was amazing to be able to watch them at their best, but sadly I will not have that experience again.
When the concert was over, the night didn't end. A lot of the audience went home, but being a hardcore fan, one of my friends wanted to stay, just to see if anything happened.
And something did...
After a while we had gotten two of the setlists - one for Laura (my best friend) and one for one of the other girls. But it didn't end there. Laura got to go backstage with one other person. I wish it could have been me, but I have got to say, that she did deserve it. It was her birthday after all.

As for the two bands: VOTO is an electronic-rock band, which is something I haven't listened to a whole lot, but I thought it was cool.

VETO - You Are A Knife. This was one the the songs they played, and even though I didn't know the words, it wasn't too hard singing a long.

THE FLOOR IS MADE OF LAVA is a good old rock band. Rock when it's best. They gave all what they had and the performance was amazing, did I already say that? Well, you need to hear it again. AMAZING.

THE FLOOR IS MADE OF LAVA - A Place In The Sun. This was also on the setlist, and I thought that it was one of those special ones. You know that one song that is just magical. It was especially on that stage. The music video is a bit controversial, but it has a great message, watch it :)

THE FLOOR IS MADE OF LAVA - Lost In The Woods was another song on the setlist, and another one of the special ones. Just imagine the crowd singing this with all their heart (me included). It is always such an amazing feeling when that happens whether you are in the crowd or up on stage (i can only imagine).

And to end off, I will add some of the pictures i took of this amazing band:

This guy was so cool. The whole concert through he has his cigarette in his mouth and his cap on backwards.

Official photo taken from the concert. Yep, that is me (leatherjacket) and my best friend (red hair).

The photo taken when Laura met the lead singer of The Floor Is Made of Lava backstage.

And as a little bonus comment, the lights of the concert were so cool. These pictures do not give it justice, but as Laura said "there are so many good photo-opportunities" (note: Laura wants to be a photographer, so she'll know stuff like that ;) ).

30 Seconds to Mars is coming to Denmark again!!!!

Just found out today!

Tickets on sale from thursday. I am sure I will be in line for those!!!!

They will be playing at this stage near my school. It's actually kind of funny. The first day of school all the new students went to this stage to hear the dean and the senior board members talk, and all I could think about was how awesome it would be to have a concert in there. I was sitting on one of the crappiest seats, but it was still a really good view. And right when my train of thought went to the amazing concert in Tivoli a few months earlier, they played a video with Kings and Queens as the background music. Was I exited or what?

But anyways, as I was thinking of a 30STM concert in that exact room, little did I know that just 15 days later, I would find out that that will actually be happening. Funny how things turn out.

Hmm maybe I have some sort of superpower. Wouldn't that be cool? To be able to see the future or make things happen that haven't already happened.

So to sign off today I will be posting the exact same song that was played for me in that room, leading me to the thought of 30STM playing in there. Here you have it: Kings and Queens, enjoy:

30STM VMA Best Rock Video: Up In the Air

ECHELON, OUR BOYS WON!

Now I didn't get to see the VMA's, because of the time differences causing to be in the middle of the dark night, and because I had a driving lesson this morning. But I'm excited anyways. Damn good job people!

SO here is there acceptance "speech".. Just look at how happy they got when they opened that convolute and how excited they were about the fans that they just went over there to group hug them :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlZTC4Bhjck

If this doesn't say gratefulness I don't know what will then.

And for the winning video (because of course; It has to be shown!!). Enjoy:

Seen any good movies lately?

Summer is almost over and the fall is hastily heading in this direction. I have had an amazing summer; I graduated from High School, went to Africa for a month, my University application got accepted and I'm spending the last days of my vacation to reload.
The thing is; since this summer has been so awesome, one could begin to fear that the fall won't live up to the standards its hotter fellow season has set. But not me.
Ironically it's raining as I write this, but that is a part of the Danish summer.

So back to the movies. Fall means school is starting and the weather is changing, but it also means that it's season for all the cool movies to premier and for the TV-shows to air again. For instance; a couple of days ago I saw the Percy Jackson 2 premier with my friend and I'm going to see the pre-release of The Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones next week. Later the TV series are coming. I am specifically waiting for How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Awkward and on the top of my list SUPERNATURAL.

Less than a year ago a friend of mine showed me Supernatural, and since that time, I have watched and rewatched the whole series. SEASON 1-8. Check it.

So this post is not really about music, but I thought that I would be okay since The main part of my other posts are about just that.

So I will sign off with a lovely music video with the lovely Kevin Zegers who plays the lovely (and hardcore) shadowhunter Alec in The Mortal Instruments.
The is by Rock Mafia and the nane; The Big Bang. Enjoy:

WELCOME BACK (to me)

Yes I am back again. Maybe some are wondering where the heck I've been, but I can tell you that I have a good reason for being gone this time.

I was in Africa.

No shit I actually was in Africa. Tanzania to be more exact. I was with my drama group on a tour through the country and we performed in different cities with this Tanzanian group; Ngoma Africa. Fun, fun, fun. But this is the reason I haven't updated for a loooooooooong time now.

Sorry, I'm not sorry.

Oh well but..... Okay the trip wasn't without sacrifice. We left the 2nd of July - THE SAME DAY GREEN DAY AND ALL TIME LOW CAME TO DENMARK. I had mixed feelings. I was so sad that I didn't get to see them live, but I was so excited to go to freaking Africa on tour. How many people will ever experience that? Not many.

So all summer I've been listening to Afro Jazz on humungus speakers which made the sound go all !"#z¤!!x%&/( and hurt your ears. Greeeeaaaaaaat, but you have no idea how nice it is to just relax with no music AT ALL WHAT SO EVER. But you know I can't go long without music, so that is why I'm gonna sign off with one of my favorite songs at the moment: 30 Seconds to Mars - City of Angels.

Paramore in Denmark

Paramore guested Denmark yesterday. But the reason why I haven't been excited for that is that I couldn't go. I have my final exam today, so I needed to study and get a good nights sleep. I am still not over the rush I got from the 30STM concert this Friday. I just saw an interview Jared Leto did with a danish TV-station. I remember sitting in the crowd and my friend turning to me pointing and saying "it's him, it's Jared". Even though you couldn't see his face you knew it was him. One guy with a black hoodie being escorted by guards and a camera crew, there is no way it could have been any other person.

But back to Paramore. yes I'm sad that I didn't get to see them, but today is all about me graduating high school. I can only hope to see them the next time the visit Denmark.

I saw Thirty Seconds to Mars live

And so, I am in a post-concert state of mind - meaning I am depressed, but burst into fangirl fits once i a while. It was Friday night in the Danish amusement park Tivoli. It was two very amazing hours. My friends and I arrived at three o'clock meaning we could pick our sport right in the middle in second row.

It was 7 long hours of waiting and then they finally got our on stage. They opened with the intro 'Birth' to their new album 'LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS' and the crowd went crazy. It really seemed like Jared was impressed by the (I guess) 3-4.000 people dancing and singing along to their songs. During 'Search and Destroy' Jared had to stop the song To say (and I quote) "This audience is fucking crazy"

They were shooting for a new Music video. I guess they will be doing something along the line with 'Closer to the Edge'. And after the concert they were interviewing some fans, asking them questions like 'What is lust to you?". I wasn't one those people, but I'm looking forward to the result. They were also shooting in Copenhagen city. In a place called 'Nyhavn' [New harbour]. It's a really nice place with afternoon bars and restaurants and really pretty and old buildings with the canal right next to it (Simple Plan filmed there as well when they were in Denmark).

So... Second row. That was close. A really great sight to the stage. The only thing wrong was this one woman (around 40 years old) who kept pushing and pushing. She wasn't from Denmark (we have better manners than that ;) ), no but whenever people asked her to stop pushing she just said that it wasn't her problem and she couldn't do anything about it. I understand that there was no room, but she literally pushed me backwards, so I almost fell. Luckily my best friend Laura was there to catch me :)

Here is a picture I took:
You see how close I was. It's not zoomed in or anything.

The band and the crew also took some pictures: you can actually see my friend on the first row in this one:
This one is on the band's Instagram and facebook (and so on). My friend is in the white shirt in the middle :)

So to sum up: An amazing night, but with aching body parts and back problems from all the pushing.

FAME!

...I'm gonna live forever.

So I went to see FAME this weekend. It was a "local" production, but when I say local, I mean that this group has a lot of sponsors to support them - so they are almost professional. I actually think it's a combination between amature theatre and a professional production. The actors, singers and dancers are all kids my age. I was actually given the opportunity to audition for this play. but decided to be in my school's production of The Lion King instead.

It was a really amazing performance and you could really see that they have been working since the fall.

I'm adding a link from one of their "teasers", instead of their actual show, because I couldn't find any of those. I know people recorded it on their phones, I sat right behind a woman who was doing that.

They are dancing to 'Hard Work' and 'Fame'. Enjoy:

Trommen's "teaser" of FAME!

And then just imagine that on the real stage, with the right lights and the right music and the real costumes.
I really enjoyed it. What did you think? Have you seen FAME on broadway or else where live? What is your favorite musical? Mine are still We Will Rock You and American Idiot.

Please leave a comment below :)

I wish you a nice day.

Somewhere in Neverland

To start my All Time Low ramp I will begin with their new music video (not the newest though): 'Somewhere in Neverland'.

I think it is so cute. Really.

I showed it to my best friend and her face was the exact same as mine the first time I saw it: A big smile and lights in our eyes.

I love the art of the video and the storyline. It is so "pretty" compared to other All Time Low music videos.

Whoever the girl is, she's very pretty and very lucky. It looks like they had fun making this video, and I think that's an important thing.

Enjoy, you will like it:

Long time, no see

It's a long time since I've talked to you guys, but I've been so so busy with school. Now I only have a week left. One week, and I don't have to go to school anymore. I just need my exams to be overwith and I'll graduate in little over a month.
Danish school system can be confusing to others, yes.

But since last time I wrote, I have been keeping up with my music interests - and I have to say that All Time Low has been on my mind a lot of the time.

I'm not gonna review anything now, cuz' I'm in English class, but when I get home :)
I promise.

We Will FREAKING Rock You

Wanna hear about my day yesterday? Huh? Huh? Well you have no choice.
I went to see We Will Rock You the musical in Copenhagen yesterday. And I was blown away!!!!
It was like I was high, but I wasn't. Amazing feeling. Like when you go to a concert - except this wasn't a concert - this was a musical. And no it is SO not the same thing...

But anyways... In the end BRIAN MAY steps out on the scene and starts his guitar solo in We Will Rock You (the song). I screamed so hard. Funny thing is that my mom was on my left side and some old dude was on my right. I felt a little misplaced, but that didn't matter because Brian freaking May was performing in front of me.

Legendary night :D

And for the musical. I loved the costumes and the dances and the lights and the actors and the actresses and the lead actor and and actress. (the lead actor was freaking cute - sadly I don't remember his name). Overall a musical worth seeing.

I give it 5/5 stars :)

30 Seconds to Mars and Paramore

They are both coming to Denmark. I am SO going to see them both. And the best part: I don't have to go to school the next day, either of the days because of summer vacation. You heard it. I'm gonna see both 30STM and Paramore.

And suddenly all of my friends wants to go with me. I'm so excited. Now I just need tickets.

I'll get back to you with the awesome experiences :D

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I'm attending my first show tonight. It's too exciting.
I've heard something about a "virgin"-ritual. Am I supposed to be scared?

Well. I'm going as Columbia. I've got my glitter on ;)

I've watched the movie, but it didn't make sense to me. I guess that's the whole point...

My favorite song is "Sweet Transvestite". I knew it before I knew it was from that movie.
I'm a bi fan of Supernatural, and Mark Pellegrino sang it at a karaoke. It was awesome :D

Mikey Way and Sarah Em. I need to talk to someone

This is something I've been wanting to talk about to someone, but I just didn't know who. So I've decided to talk to you.

I don't know if you know about this, and really, I don't know much either.
Before I begin I just wanna say that I love My Chemical Romance no matter what. Coming home and seeing their poster every afternoon after school makes me relax. Their music is a big part of my life, and nothing like this will change my opinion on that.

That being said I still don't approve of this.

Let's start at the beginning.

There are rumors going around that Mikey Way (bassist of My Chemical Romance) has been cheating on his wife of 7 years Alicia  with a 20 year old model - Sarah Em.

This all started when Sarah posted on her private Instagram some photos of her and Mikey being really intimate and cuddly.

Some rumors has it that Mikey and Sarah has been hiding this for Alicia and the rest of My Chem, but Sarah posted the photos without Mikey knowing about it. Some other rumors has it that Mikey and Alicia were broken up, before he started seeing Sarah.

This is not all. Pictures of an engagement ring has been posted on the internet. People say that Mikey has proposed to Sarah (look at the conversation on the picture). Some people even say that it's the same freaking ring that he proposed to Alicia with! I don't know if that is true though, but you see the ring and that is it.

This thing is really big on the different social medias; Twitter, Tumblr and so on, and it hasn't gone "un-commented" by the people involved. On Twitter Alicia wrote "devastated... (but ill be back). xo."
to which Lyn-Z Way (bassist of Mindless Self Indulgence and wife to Gerard Way - lead singer of My Chemical Romance and big brother to Mikey) responded "I love you. You are apart of my family and nothing will ever change that."

Also former bandmember Bob Bryar (former drummer of My Chemical Romance) has commented on the scandal. He send a message to Mikey's Twitter saying "hey @mikeyway you can always turn to jesus in times like these. jesus will understand". He posted that with a picture of Jesus.

The thing the MCRmy is really angry with in this whole scandal is how Sarah is acting about it. She has not expressed any sort of apologies or understanding towards Alicia. Many fans are taking it out on Sarah, saying she's just a media-whore, and that it is un-moral of her to destroy a marriage. A message was sent to her on Twitter asking her "@heySarahEm How does it feel to ruin a marriage?.. " to which Sarah responded "@Valo_Iero_Way Try asking the girl who ruined it". Clearly she is talking about Alicia here.

An other Twitter comment is from Lyn-Z stating that "You are a pedestrian in my life. Please go away. I'm not buying what you are selling" and saying "How about: you are a pig and will never be apart of my family... Too much? Perhaps...".

So now we have had some comments from some of the involved people in this scandal. Mikey Way has yet to say something about this whole thing. I will not express my opinion on this until I've heard the whole story from start to end how it all began and why.

There are many sides of the same story. For instance:
- Some say Mikey cheated, some say him and Alicia had broken up before it all started.
- Some say that Sarah is 19, others 20 (this is not a big deal).
- Some say they are engaged, but these rumors are not so clear.
- Some say that Mikey proposed to Sarah with the same ring as Alicia, but this (again) is an unclear rumor.

If I hear more I will get back to you on this, but for now, I would really just like this whole thing to be over. I wanna know what's going on. If it really is so, that Mikey has left Alicia, I can only say that he does look happy on those pictures with Sarah; just as happy as he seemed with Alicia.
